May 21st, 2025 End of 24-25 School Year

Principal Corner

I had been thinking for several days about what my topic would be for the last principal corner of the school year. I had a couple different thoughts written down, but it wasn’t what I wanted for the end of the year. I was walking my dog one morning before school as I usually do, and I was walking on the north side of the playground towards Main Street. I noticed some writing on the sidewalk. The first thing I saw was the word “hell” followed by God, but with a lower-case g. The principal, rule follower in me kicked in for an instant and my thoughts were why was our student or someone else writing “hell” and don’t they know that God is with a capital G. But then I stopped my pheasant staring moment (see last week’s principal corner) and looked at everything that was drawn. What was there was a tally counter with two columns “hell” and “god”. There was one tally below and it was under “god”. Then the full context of what was written there hit me. A student or someone else and it doesn’t matter who it was, declared they were following God. This person counted themselves as one of the saved. I think to the line of the Maverick City Music song, I Thank God, which states, “hell lost another one, I am free.” That is what Trinity Lutheran School is about. It is about students saying when the Holy Spirit comes to their heart, “Yes”, I want to follow God. I do not want hell, but I want to be in Heaven with the true Triune God. We can all celebrate when someone makes that declaration and says, yes, God, I believe, and I want to follow you. .

May OFFERING

During May, our chapel offering goes to our Adopt-A-Student fund. This is a program at TLS to help support families who don’t qualify for financial assistance or have a financial need unexpectedly or to help families who join our TLS family mid year and don’t quite have the financial need to attend unassisted. It’s a supplement to our Secret Angel and a great way to help families out when we can. So far we have raised $80+ for the Adopt a Student fund.

The Trinity Lutheran Church Board of Outreach has generously agreed to MATCH our Chapel funds for APRIL & MAY! Let’s get those chapel offerings up!
